Oh Fern! You stole my heart! Dad contacted me in a hurry when Fern was 4 days old. I was so happy that I was able to schedule a newborn mini session for them in that short window of opportunity.

I arrived at their adorable home in Bernal Heights area, San Francisco and was blown away with all of the colors in their home. It was so colorful and lively! I kept seeing cool things and asking where they got them and the answer was usually that mom made them! How I wish I was crafty. We incorporated one of moms beautifully knit blankets in the photos. Did you see that cool nursery? Check out the painting on Fern’s wall. She is going to be a strong and smart woman. We need you in this world, Fern!

I was mostly in communication with Dad before the session but mom made a special effort to contact me after she saw the photos. “Thank you so much for the gorgeous photos, Emily! We so enjoyed seeing you work with Fern and were amazed by how comfortable you made her. Everyone tells us how short this time in her life will feel, and the way you captured both her tininess and our love for her will forever be so special to us. We have already told so many friends about you!”
